Final Stats

Right-hander, Mike Dunn, followed up Brandon McClurg's no-hitter, with an impressive pitching performance of his own on Sunday, throwing a complete game shut-out in the Bisons' 7-0 victory.

"With McClurg's great performance yesterday I think it gave us some momentum going into today," Dunn said. "So I just wanted to go out, do my job, and give us a chance to win the series."

Both starters started out strong, exchanging zeroes over the first two innings. The Bisons finally got to Owls' starter, Justin Freeman in the third. Caleb Joseph got the scoring going, using a double to right center to plate Ben Williams for the game's first run. The next batter, Blake Bratcher, gave the Bisons a 2-0 lead with a single to right, scoring Joseph.

The Bisons added to their lead in the fourth scoring another run on an error by the Owl's third basemen.

Two innings later, the Bisons took a comfortable 5-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Wilkins and an RBI single by Branden Cadavid.

The Bisons stretched their lead to 6-0 in the seventh. With one out and runners on first and third, Justin Sanders struck out, and it appeared the runner on first, Bratcher, would be picked off. However, while he was caught in a rundown, Bolden, the runner on third, broke for home. The throw by the Owl's first basemen was offline, allowing Bolden to score on the error.

The Bisons added a final run in the eighth on Joseph's second RBI double of the game, to bring the score to 7-0, the final.

With the win, Dunn improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Bisons improved to 14-11, and 10-5 in the conference.

"With this being the rubber match of the series I wanted to come out and give our team a chance to win the game," Dunn said. "I wanted to keep Kennesaw off balance, hit my spots and let the defense work behind me and they did a great job."

The Bisons recorded nine hits in the game, with Joseph and Sanders leading the team with two each. As a team the Bisons are batting .286 this season.

"I think we have one of the best offensive team's in the league and the pitchers know that if we can go out there and keep the other team down, our offense can hit anyone in the country," Dunn said.

The Bisons will return to action when they welcome Middle Tennessee State University to Dugan Field on April 1.
