The Lipscomb Bisons are still seeking a second day pitcher after losing 12-4 to Canisius.
More than 370 fans were on hand Saturday at sun-splashed but chilly Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium for the second game in the series. The Bisons won the opener 7-1 Friday night.
The series ends Sunday afternoon at 1 with Lipscomb sophomore right-hander Davey Hackett getting the start.
Left-hander Alex Ross started for the Bisons and gave up four hits and four runs, three earned in four innings. He walked two and struck out two. Right-hander Matt Bowling started the fifth inning and gave up two hits and two runs, both earned. He walked two and did not strike out a batter.
Right-hander Josh Cotham threw 3.2 innings and allowed six hits and six runs, three earned. He walked two and struck out one. Left-hander Chris Nunn closed out the game. He walked a batter and then forced Ian Choy to ground out to first base.
The Bisons had nine hits as Mike Goemans went the distance for Canisius. He struck out and walked two. All four of the runs he gave up were earned.
The Bisons held a 4-3 lead until the fourth. Canisius scored one run in fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth. They added five more in the ninth.
Brett Teschner hit his first home run of the season for the Bisons. Zach Messer hit his first triple of the season. Andrew Dickerson added a double.
Tyler Wilson and Matt Brewer each had two hits for the Bisons. Messer drove in two runs.
