Company/title: Chief operations officer at 4UMD, a wellness testing company that works with primary care doctors at their offices.

Age: 26

What he does: Becker is one of three partners who launched the Brentwood-based startup 4UMD two years ago.

Background: “I grew up in Brentwood, attended Brentwood High School and married my high school sweetheart, Lauren Kottas Becker. I played collegiate baseball at Lipscomb University and graduated cum laude in 2006.”

How his company works: “We bring wellness and diagnostic testing directly into primary care physicians’ offices, providing another income stream for doctors and better medicine for patients. When a doctor gives a referral for stress tests, we send the technician and the equipment to perform cardiopulmonary exercise stress tests, breathing tests, heart rate tests. We’re totally portable.”

Why this career: “I was in finance for a year after college, but I always wanted to be in the health-care field because there are some great health-care mentors in Middle Tennessee. My dad has been in the field for 20 years. I eventually got into health-care sales, then moved on to starting 4UMD.”

Interests outside work: “Sports. I’m from a family of boys. My two brothers and I all played collegiate sports. My brother-in-law played collegiate sports. Now, I enjoy watching football much more, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Ohio State Buckeyes.”

Immediate plans: “We’re expecting our first child in March. It’s a boy. His name is Bryce.”
